Stewart Ball
Managing Director
Stewart has been a part of the insurance industry since 1959, he formed Shortland Insurance Brokers in 1977. His integrity and perseverance has contributed to the growth and direction of the company, he concentrates on maintaining the personal relationships he has built with many of our clients. Stewart is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and a Fellow of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Andrew Ball
Director
Andrew commenced his career with Shortland in 1989 later becoming a principal of the company. Andrew primarily develops business opportunities maintains existing client relationships and has contributed greatly to our growth. Andrew is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and an Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
John Bell
Risk and Client Manager
John joined Shortland in 1999 he has over 30 years of risk management and insurance experience which included key Risk Management roles with a multinational insurer. If you have had insurances handled by John chances are that you would have experienced John’s friendly and efficient manner. John is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and an Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Donna Daley
Client Manager
Donna joined Shortland in 1990 then left after some years to pursue other interests and returned to part time employment in 2002, she maintains existing client relationships and has contributed greatly to our office procedures. Donna is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and an Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Rachael Roberts
Client Manager
Rachael was appointed as a Shortland client manager in 2004 and her insurance industry experience extends back to 1995. Rachael has developed long-term relationships with clients who have come to value the service levels she provides. Rachael is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and an Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Murray Christian
Authorised Representative

Murray became an authorised representative of Shortland Insurance Brokers in early 2008 after more than 13 years experience with International Brokers in Sydney. Since his appointment he has developed strong relationships with business's, both large and small, on the Central Coast and surrounding areas. Murray is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and an Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Luke Davies
Business Client Adviser
Luke joined Shortland in 2008 and assists our clients through the claims process and a number of clients with their insurance needs. Luke is an ASIC Tier II qualified adviser and is in a continuing program with the National Insurance Brokers Association to further his industry qualifications.
Simmone Tily
Client Manager
Simmone was first employed at Shortland in 1990 and after a period of pursuing another career path returned in 2004. Simmone attends to the requirements of our Strata clients and maintains some of our existing client relationships. Simmone is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and an Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Roslyn Ball
Director
Roslyn assisted husband Stewart in establishing Shortland Insurance Brokers in 1977. Roslyn is our financial controller which includes remitting our clients premiums to insurers, reconciling our financial transactions and paying salaries. Roslyn is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker.
